Rudy Fernandez Gets Offer from Real Madrid

According to many Spanish sources, Real Madrid made a huge contract offer to Fernandez to secure his long-term rights after he plays in the NBA.

Madrid offered him a 6-year deal and €3M per season. They are also allowing him to return to the Mavericks when the lockout ends but only if he goes back to Madrid when his contract with Dallas expires.

In US money, this deal comes to about $4.35 million per year which totals $26.1 million; he would make $2.1 million in the 2011-2012 season.

This offer makes for a great scenario for Fernandez. He would get to go back to Spain to play right away as well as play for the Mavs if necessary. Not only that but he would be getting paid much more than he would be if he stuck around in the NBA for free agency.

With all of the opportunities flying his way, this will for sure be a difficult decision for Fernandez.
