Peja Helps The Mavs Get the Win Over Houston

After losing by a buzzer beater to Denver Thursday night, bringing their 10-game win streak to an end, the Mavs didn't let that loss get to them and left Houston with a 106-102 win.

The game didn't start off too well for the Mavs as Dirk shot 1 for 5 from the field in the first quarter. They still managed to end the quarter only down 25-23.

In the second quarter, the Mavs went on a 25-11 run that gave them a 48-38 lead. They scored 34 points and were shooting 75% this quarter. At this point, Houston's defense was falling apart.

For most of the second half, Houston turned over their bad defense to the Mavs, as Houston took advantage of their poor defense and rallied back.

The Mavs were up by as much as 23 points in the second half, but the Rockets were able to cut their deficit to 95-92 with 2:15 left in the game.

After a couple of sunken Mavs' shots, they were up by 7 again with just under 2 minutes to go. They held onto the lead until the end, getting a 106-102 win over the Rockets.

Peja Stojakovic was a huge part of this game where he finally made the incredible appearance we were all waiting for. He scored a season high 22 points and hit four 3-pointers, passing Dale Ellis for fourth all-time in 3-point makes.

Dirk was also a big help in this game scoring 22 points as well. As for the other players: Marion had 14 points and 9 rebounds, Chandler had 12 points and 7 rebounds, Barea had 11 points and Kidd had 11 points-2 of them coming from 3's. Haywood once again did not play for Chandler, as Carlisle decided to put in Mahinimi again instead; Mahinmi had 7 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

For the Rockets, Lowry led the team with 26 points. Martin and Battier had 17 points and Hayes and Hill both put up 10.

Some Statistical Facts: Dallas has scored 100+ points in 10 of their last 11 games. They are now an incredible 27-2 when scoring over 100 points. They have won 8 of their last 11 games in Houston. They also improved to 16-2 when atleast two players score 20+ points. About five Mavs' players have scored in double figures in 11 consecutive games. The Mavs went 8-15 from 3-point range and have now hit a 3-pointer in an NBA record 992 consecutive games.

The Mavs have a few days to rest until their next game at home against the Sacramento Kings.

They are optimistic about Rodrigue Beaubois to finally make his return in this Wednesday's game.
