Mavs Slide Past Charlotte, Getting Their 8th Straight Win

The Mavs had a great night, beating Charlotte 101-92 to get their 8th straight win. Dallas is now 25-1 when hitting 100+ points and 10-3 on the second night of back to backs. This is also the 14th time in a row that the Mavericks have beaten Charlotte, making it the only NBA team the Bobcats have never beaten.

The Mavs had 31 against the Bobcats in the first quarter to end it with a 9 point lead. For almost the whole rest of the game, Dallas led by double digits.

The Mavericks led by as much as 18 in the third quarter.

In the fourth, Charlotte was down by just 8 points, then got it to within 6 with under a minute to go, but the Mavs continued to play hard and Terry's jumper with less than 40 seconds remaining put the Mavs up 100-92 to clinch it.

The Mavericks defense was key last night. Nowitzki had four blocked shots, Kidd and Marion each had three, Chandler had two, and Haywood and Barea each had one. As a team they swatted a total of 14 Charlotte shots.

The Mavs have had five or more players score in double figures in 7 consecutive games and have scored over 100 points in each.

Dirk led the team with 25 points where he was 10 of 19 from the field; it looks as if he's finally fully recovered from his knee injury as his shot is up to par. Another player whose shot is finally back is Jason Kidd. He finished with 13 points including four 3-pointers, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Terry had a big night as well, finishing with 21 points. Barea had his second consecutive start, ending the game with 15 points. Marion was the fifth player to score in double figures as he scored 10 points, 4 assists and 7 rebounds. Chandler's run of three consecutive double-doubles finally came to an end when he was just short by 1, scoring 9 points; but he didn't have a bad night as he also finished with 15 rebounds.

Charlotte's backcourt wasn't so hot tonight. Although Augustin led the team with 21 points and Jackson finished with 17, they were a combined 12 of 34 from the field. Wallace ended with 13 points and 11 rebounds, Diaw had 11 points, and Brown and Livingston but added 10 points each.

Technicals are an issue for Jackson, who drew his 11th technical foul of the season in the third quarter.

The Mavs finished with a 101-92 win over the Bobcats, extending their winning streak to 8 games, the NBA's current longest. It was also their fourth consecutive road win.

Next, the Mavs head back to the AAC to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are on an atrocious 24 game losing streak. The Mavericks are hopeful that Peja Stojakovic will finally make his first appearance in this game.

Terry goes up for a bucket, 2 of his 21 points.

Wallace goes up for a shot and loses the ball
