Mavs Win 5th Straight Over the Wizards

The Mavs have went undefeated in their little four game homestand for the first time since 2008. Not only that, but they also won their 5th consecutive game. Defeating the Wizards at home has given Washington their 24th loss on the road without a single win.

With Sasha Pavlovic now gone, Carlisle decided to start Brian Cardinal at small forward. This enabled Marion and Terry to come off the bench and be explosive as always. Cardinal was 3 for 5 from downtown and finished with 9 points and 4 rebounds.

In the beginning, the game had Mavs' fans a little worried as the first quarter ended with the Wizards up by 4. However the Mavs took the lead by 1 at the half and they took it from there.

Mavs nation can breathe, it looks like Dirk is finally back. He scored a game-high 24 points being 7 for 11 from the field.

Something I'm used to saying: turnovers were an issue for Dallas. The Wizards scored 21 points off 14 Mavs turnovers. The Wizards only had 7 turnovers, just 1 in the first half.

For the most part this game was back and fourth with 7 ties and 12 lead changes. The Mavs were down by as many as 12 points in the first half. Halfway through the third, the Wizards were up by 2, but Terry scored 8 points on a 16-8 Dallas run that ended the period. The Mavericks held onto the lead from there on out.

Jason Kidd was short of his 107th career triple-double with 11 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds. Chandler had his 10th double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Off the bench, Marion had 14 points, 9 rebounds and Terry had 14 points, 8 assists.

For the Wizards, John Wall acquired his 17th double-double of 17 points and 10 assists, the most by any Wizards player since Juwan Howard in 94'-95'. Lewis and Young both led the team with 18 points. Blatche had 16 points, 13 rebounds and Jianlian had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Mavs got the 102-92 win over the Wizards, pushing them to 32-15. Dallas is 22-1 when scoring atleast 100 points.

Next up, the Mavs travel to New York to take on the Knicks at the garden.
