Barea to Stay in Dallas?

JJ Barea, the fast little point guard that we all grew to know and love who drives to the basket swerving in and out of players quicker than the speed of light, is an unrestricted free agent this summer.

He made it aware that he wanted to stay in Dallas, and apparently his agent completely agrees.

In an interview with hoopshype.com, Barea's agent, Dan Fegan, said, "Of course he'd like to stay in Dallas. It was a magical season, he has an outstanding relationship with the organization and we're gonna work hard to see that he has that opportunity."

It is likely that Barea will get offered more money and playing time by other teams, but with him, his agent, and the Mavs franchise all agreeing, this is a situation that will work itself out.

J.J...Boricua de corazon ! this is a hard one. I want to think that he will stay in Dallas but money talks, if other teams are offering more MINUTES and more MONEY, he will leave. You have to think about your future and whats best for you. But he needs to know that money is not everything in this world. Happines is ! ! :)

i don't know. i don't really think he will leave either way. and with jason kidd getting older and retiring soon, barea could possible have a starting role. kidd even said he wouldn't mind being a reserve and mentoring barea.
